How often have you referred your friends or family to businesses?  Have you ever received a “reward” from the business for referring them?  Well, we have created a system that allows local businesses to track customers that were generated a by a referral from someone.  This system is much better than the old “pass out my business card” where you never know if your referral buys anything, or if the business is actually going to let you know about it.

STEP 1: First you need to get the Referral Card loaded onto your phone.  Each business controls how they offer the Referral Card to you.  You may have to visit the business, visit their website, be a customer or something else.  Please check our Refer SWFL Business Directory for a list of businesses that are currently participating.

STEP 2:  You can then share your Referral Card with your friends or family.  They will also be required to store the Referral Card on their phone.  The easiest way to share the Referral Card is to text them the link from the share button on your Referral Card.  When they click on the link it will direct them to download the Referral Card.  When they visit the business they MUST have their Referral Card scanned after making a purchase or other requirement requested by the business (test drive, listen to sales promotion, tour model home).

STEP 3:  After the person you referred has their Referral Card scanned you will receive a notification on your phone that you have received a Referral Reward.  The Reward will vary depending on the business.  You might get a free appetizer from a restaurant or maybe $100 or more from a car dealer.  Depending on the Rewards offered by the Business you may be able to save your Rewards and exchange them for 1 larger Reward.  The Business also determines how you receive your Reward.  You may have to visit the Business to claim your reward.  You may have to wait a period of time to insure the product isn’t returned.  They may only let you claim the Rewards on a certain date or time.  When you are ready to claim your Reward the Business will scan your Reward Referral Card and give you the Reward.

Q:  Does Refer SWFL earn a commission from the sales generated through the Program?
A:  No.  We don’t charge the Businesses or the Agents any commissions.  We only charge the Business a small monthly flat fee regardless of the amount of sales.

Q:  Does one Referral Card cover every Business that is participating?
A:  No, you will be required to get a Referral Card from each Business you want to refer.

Q:  How do I get the Referral Card from the Business?
A:  Each Business controls how they offer their Referral Card.  Please visit the Refer SWFL Business Directory for more information.

Q:  Will I earn a Reward for everything the customer ever buys from the Business?
A.  It’s up to the Business.

Q:  Will this track online sales from the Business’ website?
A:  No, the Referral Card must be scanned by the Business.

Q:  Is it possible for the Business to “cheat” and not pay the Reward?
A:  It is the responsibility of the customer to insure their Referral Card gets scanned at the Business.  As long as it is scanned the software will track the purchase and notify you.  If the business believes the Reward was received in error or under fraudulent conditions they may not honor the Reward.

Q:  Will this work for Businesses outside the SWFL Area?
A:  If a Business outside of the SWFL area wants to participate we will let them.  We are also getting ready to launch ReferFL.com which will cover more of Florida.  Our goal is to offer a National Program at www.ReferASale.com eventually once everything is ready and we can handle the growth.

Q:  Do the customers have to purchase something for the Referrer to receive the Reward?
A:  It depends on the Program the Business is offering.  The Business can scan the Referral Card whenever they want, no purchase is actually required by our system.  The Business may offer you a Reward if you refer someone that takes a test drive in a car, watches a product demonstration, tours a model home or just walks through the door!

Q:  Is my information safe?
A:  We don’t store any financial information or sensitive personal information.  The only information we ask for is your name, email address and phone number.  The Business will get and keep any financial information they require from you for Reward Payments.

Q:  What if I or my friends don’t have a phone that will store Referral Cards?
A:  Then we are sorry, this program won’t work without the Referral Card on the phone.  The Business may offer a different way of tracking but it would be up to them.

Q:  How can I find Businesses that are participating in the Program?
A:  We HIGHLY SUGGEST you subscribe to our Refer SWFL Newsletter.  We will let subscribers know about new Businesses as they are added and SPECIAL OFFERS that may be offered by Businesses at different times.  You can also visit the Refer SWFL Business Directory for a list of Businesses.

Q:  How do I know which Rewards I am eligible for?
A:  The Business should tell you about their Rewards when you get your Referral Card.  If a Business offers a Program with several Rewards you may be able to save up your points and get a higher Reward.
